EXAMPLES OF OUR WORK

HARDWARE MAINTENANCE CONTRACT ISSUE

SOLUTION: 80% REDUCTION FROM BEGINNING OF CONTRACT

Case-Study #1:  A Fortune 100 company received a detailed listing of specific vendor hardware assets subject to annual renewal. The renewal quote for all these devices was considered excessive and far beyond what the customer had expected or budgeted to pay.

Solution: Our experts were brought in to investigate the asset list and renewal requirements for the company. GIG discovered that the vendor had made the following listing errors: 1) assets that were no longer in the company's possession; 2) assets that were registered to another company; 3) assets that were not even found registered to any company in their database.

Outcome: Based on our highly skilled resources' asset management expertise,  customer was able to reduce their maintenance renewal by 80% from vendors original quote (based on prior year)  This was also a 75% reduction in what the customer had previously budgeted.(This points out the history of vendor abuse and bad behavior towards the unknowing or unprepared customer.)

Customer had OVERPAID the entire time.

VENDOR COST INCREASE VERSUS ABSOLUTE BUDGET CONSTRAINTS

OUTCOME:  MULTIPLE LEVEL AGREEMENT WITH REDUCED TCO

Case-Study #2:  A company has a substantial footprint in an existing major software provider's products.  Due to downward economic pressure, the company can no long grow IT expense at the same rate.

Problem: The company's projected demand and consumption are on an existing linear growth path. The company is unprepared for the significant capital and operating expense increases ahead.

Solution: Our software licensing experts and architects were able to come up with multiple cost savings strategies that were not solely defined by purchasing additional software. They were able to give the company additional options via technology that allowed for company to invest in a complementary solution, that was far less expensive, in order to have a total cost of owership that fit into their budgetary requirements.

OUT OF COMPLIANCE

SOLUTION:  100% COST AVOIDANCE

Case-Study #3:  A Fortune 100 company has received an out-of-compliance notice from a very large software manufacturer and demands an immediate audit.  The company did not even know how or where the vendor received the information.

How it may have happened:  1) A company engineer called technical support on an issue and divulged internal information around software deployment and usage; 2) The vendor has onsite support at your location and has been collecting usage data unbeknownst to you; 3) The vendor can track downloads originating from your company's IP addresses; 4) Vendor keeps better purchase records than you do; 5) Lack of proper Asset Management means that your company is discarding still current IT assets.

Solution: Customer needed to develop an effective strategy to work with the vendor to resolve the alleged compliance issue. Guardian Insight Group stepped in...

Outcome: Based on our experts' experience in negotiation and risk management techniques, customer was able to avoid any out-of-compliance payments. Although the vendor expected a high 7 figure true-up, vendor went away empty-handed.
